  • After giving your hair a good wash, boil five teaspoons of dried and used tealeaves in limewater, use it as a last rinse after shampoo, to give your scalp skin, the factors of anti-dandruff formation. This gives your hair… a lustrous shine and provides nourishment too.
  • Instead of shampooing, massage handfuls of baking soda into the hair and scalp to absorb oil and to loosen dead skin on scalp. Rinse thoroughly and use no other shampoos. While initially the hair may seem dry, after several weeks, dandruff will go off and hair will be smooth and shiny.

“Bump” hairstyles are one of the most popular hairstyles around. If ever there was a hairstyle to bring out your wilder side, it’s the bump hair style. You can wear the bump with a ponytail, a half up/half down hairstyle or to give a cool finish to short haircuts with longer layers on the top.

There are GREAT alternatives to having a hard piece of plastic called a “Bump It” in your hair that won’t cause “fly aways” by teasing your hair with a comb and using Aqua Net!

The key to a successful bump is to get the sides tight to contrast with the height created on the top. The sleek sides resemble the undercut, which has a cool punky edge to it.

Shoulder length hairstyles are ideal to create bump hair styles.  If your hairstyle is broken up with layers that hit chin-level, is even better as you will be able to manage the bump section more easily. Also the bump will work best on day-old hair. The natural oils in your hair will give it a good grip, as freshly washed hair is too slippery.

Start styling the bump by sectioning the front part of the hair from ear to ear and clip out of the way. To get the right texture in the rest of the hair saturate damp hair with texturizing product from roots to tips and blast with the blow-drier to dry in. Use a teasing brush to tease hair back on itself to create volume. DO NOT USE A small teethed comb and “rat” the hair. This will cause breakage if not done properly and will cause you to have fly aways that will need to be hair-sprayed down ALL the time! Teasing brushes are specially designed to “rat” the hair without promoting breakage.

Note: There is a product called Lanza that can be bought at a hair salon and this is a powder up texturizer that is an AWESOME alternative to hairspray. DO NOT use alot of this powder as it is white and is pwder. Too much will leave your hair and scalp white!

Give it a good mist of strong hold hairspray, then smooth the front layers over the teased hair, gather in the back forming the bump and pin into place.

Mist again with hairspray to fix your bump into place.

You can easily style bump hairstyles on short haircuts:  apply a small blob of hair styling mousse to the roots and blow-dry.  Tease the top layers section-by-section using short strokes to create height and make hair stand up.
Once your hair is bulky an fluffy, smooth over the top over and over directing hair back. Blast with strong hold hairspray to fix hair into place.

REMEMBER: It takes practice, its like anything in life the more you do it the BETTER you will get! So, have PATIENCE!!

GOOD LUCK “BUMPING!”
